Not everyone can afford to spend four years of their lives just to get a diploma. So, this unapologetic pup decided that he’d rather steal it.
Cristina Ruiz was among the graduating students of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez last Friday. As expected, it was such a festive moment. But little did she know that, after years of hard work, someone would just snatch her academic achievement.
¡Hasta Tarzán está listo para la #GradRUM19 #GradRUM106!
Ruiz knelt after the ceremony so that she could take a photo with Tarzán, the bulldog. However, a bright idea came into Tarzán’s mind. Seeing a diploma within his reach and without the need to pay a hefty price and do boring schoolwork, the pittie decided to go for it. It was hilarious!
Enrique, Ruiz’s brother, said that they were all in shock at what happened. They didn’t expect it at all. The cover of the diploma ended up getting damaged from the dog’s bite, but Ruiz was hardly upset about it.
It turns out that the dog is the school’s mascot. So, Tarzán is kind of a big deal in the school. Everyone loves him. He even has a giant statue on the university grounds. So, for Ruiz, the brief moment of her diploma getting stolen by the adored dog makes it even more special. And, it looks like everybody shares the same opinion.

Enrique said that the people are saying that Ruiz has such a unique diploma because the university mascot “signed” it. He also said that their mother was very excited about the graduation of his sister. So, the bitten diploma was like a cherry on top.
Later that day, Ruiz decided to recreate the moment and took another photo, this time, with the giant Tarzán statue. The ambitious pittie’s plan may not have worked out well, but still, he’s got plenty of love.
